Randumb

Sorry there hasn't been a real post this week. This one is a little overly easy, but I'm sure you'll find it enjoyable. Here are some links for some albums that aren't generally available through traditional sources. Two of them have been worked on by myself and some friends, but everything else is as it was presented online.

I've posted this before, but it's been a while. Prince Paul produced this album for his Dew Doo Man imprint which was to be distributed by Def Jam, but Russell Simmons cancelled it. Now Russell Simmons is being cancelled, though Paul seems to be doing fine. By the way, he and Open Mike Eagle have a new podcast dedicated to Paul talking about his career and the interesting people he's worked with. It's called What Had Happened Was and you should definitely go listen to it as it's wonderful. Props to Harvey Cliff for hipping me to the show!

El-P released this album he did with Camu Tao for free around the time Camu's King of Hearts dropped posthumously in 2010. It's a really weird, druggy experience, with El on the beats and Camu singing like he was possessed. Great nightmare music!

If you follow me, you've probably seen me mention this before. I've gotta give credit to a source that would like to remain anonymous for hooking me up with the unreleased show vinyl that was produced for the Beastie's intended tour for Paul's Boutique, and to Harvey Cliff again for doing the amazing artwork! As for the music, this is an instrumental version of Paul's Boutique, but assembled almost entirely from lossless sources, so it's the best version available. I did the mastering on it and I think it came out pretty wonderful. Hope you enjoy it.

Most of these tracks were released on a bootleg CD, but they were lossy sourced. These are all the available circulating leftovers from Television's second album, Adventure. The first 13 tracks are outtakes and alternate versions, 14 through 19 are rough mixes from an acetate made to review the tracks, and 20 is from an unknown source with a different guitar solo than any other version.

See you next week!
